The Super Eagles of Nigeria will continue their quest to qualify for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers when they trade tackles with the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone this Friday.

After defeating the Benin Republic (2-1) and Lesotho (2-4) in their opening two matches in Group L, the three-times African Champions will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of victories.

Nigeria prepped up for the qualifiers with friendly matches against reigning African champions Algeria which they lost 1-0 and Tunisia, who held them to a 1-1 draw.

Bar the late call up for Genk forward Paul Onuachu and Shehu Abdullah due to the injury to Moses Simon and Frank Onyeka, Gernot Rohr has the full complement of his squad ahead of the encounter.

Sierra Leone is third in Group L with one point following a stuttering start to the qualifying campaign, having recorded a draw against Lesotho and defeat to the Benin Republic.

Both sides have played each other 14 times in the past, with the Super Eagles claimed nine wins while the Leone stars boast of two victories. There have been three draws between both sides.
