Making of Champions (MoC) has launched a Student—Athlete Scholarship to take care of the training and University education of the best teenage athletes that can be found in Nigeria for the next 4 years until the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The initiative kicked off in 2016 with two athletes: Joy Udo—Gabriel (17 years) and Jeremiah Jakpa (18 years), who were awarded scholarships by Oil and Gas company, ARCO Group. This support covers the athletes’ tuition, accommodation, nutrition, training and competition costs overa four—year period.
Both Udo—Gabriel and Jakpa were discovered at the 2015 Top Sprinter competition in Benin! As such, MoC is looking to recruit the most outstanding Youth and Junior athletes that will compete at Top Sprinter 2016, especially as hundreds of youngsters from Secondary Schools in Lagos State will be expected to participate in the three-day competition.
