World Record holder in the men’s 100m, 200m and 4x100m, Usain Bolt will be leading the Jamaican contingent to next month’s Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.
Bolt was named on the list of the 59-man team released on Monday by the Jamaican Olympic Association. The team comprises of 27 men and 32 women.
There had been concerns as to whether the sprinting legend would be fit enough to compete at the Olympics after he pulled out of the men’s 100m final at the Jamaican Trials earlier this month due to an injury.
His fans would no doubt be thrilled to hear that the big man would be on ground to defend all three titles at the Games, and will first see him in action at the London Diamond League on July 22.
Defending Champion in the women’s 100m Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce would also defend her title in the 100m, as World Leader Elaine Thompson goes for the sprint double. Here is the complete list of the Jamaican team (including reserves):
