Day 3 was a rather calm day for Team Nigeria at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary, as only two representatives, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Ezekiel Nathaniel were in action.

Nathaniel placed 6th in Heat 1 of the men’s 400m hurdles semifinals after running a time of 49.22s. Kyron McMaster of the British Virgin Islands won the race in 47.72 over Rasmus Magi of Estonia who came through in 48.30s.

Chukwuma clocked a time of 11.26s to place 8th in her semifinal race of the women’s 100m. Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won in 10.89s ahead of USA’s Tamari Davis in 10.98s and Poland’s Ewa Swoboda in 11.01s.
