The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by the Black Satellite of Ghana in their final group game at the ongoing West African Football Union (WAFU) B Tournament in Lome, Togo, thereby putting their qualification into the next round of the competition in jeopardy.

Nigeria thought they had snatched all three points 13 minutes from time when Joseph Arumala put them ahead from the penalty spot.

Their lead was cut short 6 minutes from time, when Eaglets goalkeeper Destiny Emuwahen committed a foul inside the box, as the Ghanaians got the equalizer.

The result means Nigeria will have to wait for the outcome of the last group match between Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana next Tuesday to decide whether they qualify to the next round.

A win for the Ivorians will seal qualification for the Golden Eaglets, but a draw will see Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire make it into the semi-final.
