Former Ghana and Chelsea player Micheal Essien has joined Danish Football Club FC Nordsjaellan in a coaching capacity.

Essien has been working on his badges and he spent a brief period with FCN as part of his plans toward securing his coaching badges.

“In the coaching staff we’ve experienced Michael Essien as both curious and hungry for knowledge before and after the training sessions, but at the same time also contributing and giving among the players during the training”. Head Coach Flemming Pedersen said.

Before moving to Denmark, the former midfielder had been playing for FC Sabail in Azerbaijan.

The former Chelsea man could be hanging his boots soon but with the look of things, the former Chelsea midfield lynchpin will be set for a stint on the touchline. He follows in the footsteps of his former Chelsea teammate Frank Lampard, who now manages the London based Club.
