Cameroon’s Karl Toko Ekambi and Ivory Coast’s Maxwell Cornet were on the losing side for Olympique Lyonnais in the UEFA Champions League semis, as German giants Bayern Munich claimed a 3-0 victory against the French Club at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon.

Cornet, who scored a goal in the quarter-final against Manchester City, started on the left flank for the French Club, while Ekambi paired Dutch attacker Memphis Depay upfront.

Lyon were the better team in the opening stages of the game, exploiting the space in behind Bayern’s defence but missed two extremely presentable chances, with Ekambi’s shot hitting the woodwork.

Few mins later, quick-fire goals from Serge Gnabry’s and a late Robert Lewandowski’s header ensured it is Bayern who face Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s final, where they’ll try to win this competition for the sixth time.
