Reigning 100m Hurdles Commonwealth Games Champion Tobi Amusan will make her first appearance in the IAAF Diamond League after being listed to run in her favourite discipline at the fourth leg of the series which is taking place in the ancient city of Rome on Thursday, May 31.

Amusan, whose debut in the league was delayed last year when she was previously registered to run in Lausanne, will jostle it out against some of the top names in the discipline.

The blue-chip field she will compete against include the likes of Olympic Champion Brianna McNeal, Beijing 2008 Olympic Champion Dawn Harper-Nelson, and 2015 World Champion Danielle Williams.

The 2015 African Junior Champion has so far had a stellar season, with the highlight being when she outpaced the rest of the field to strike GOLD at the Gold Coast Games which took place in Australia. Her winning time of 12.68s was just enough to beat Williams in the final.

Also, Amusan clocked a wind-aided 12.61s at the Drake relays in April to finish 2nd behind World Record (WR) holder Kendra Harrison. She followed that up with a 12.87s run in early May as she placed 4th at the Adidas Boston Games, a race which was won by 2014 NCAA Champion Sharika Nelvis.
