Commonwealth Games Champion, Muzala Samukonga was in flying form in the men’s 400m final at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix, storming to a massive Personal Best (PB) and National Record (NR) of 43.91s for a resounding win!

He brought his PB down from 44.66s, becoming the third African man to ever break 44 seconds and the 22nd man in history.

Behind him, Kirani James opened up his season with a time of 44.76s while Leungo Scotch came 3rd, getting under the World Championship automatic qualification standard with 44.92s (PB).

Athletics is a special shade of life for me, and my confidence has received a boost since I started out covering the sport from the stands of my home, and now as a Junior Sportswriter with Making of Champions - an opportunity to get better at what I do.
