At the International Leichtathletik Meeting in Anhalt-Dessau, World Champion Malaika Mihambo sailed out to a Season’s Best (SB) and World Lead (WL) of 7.03m (+0.8m/s) to win the women’s Long Jump, defeating Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk who leapt an equal Season’s Best (SB) of 6.85m (+0.5) in 2nd place.

Natassia Mironchyk-Ivanova, the previous World Leader reached 6.72m (+0.6) for 3rd.

Yuliya Levchenko won the women’s High Jump on countback from her compatriot Yaroslava Mahuchikh as they both cleared 1.96m, while Iryna Geraschenko completed a 1-2-3 sweep for Ukraine as she topped 1.90m for 3rd position.

Meanwhile, Piotr Lisek earned another emphatic win in the men’s Pole Vault where he cleared 5.80m before going on to take attempts at 5.95m.
Chris Nilsen finished 2nd with 5.70m as Ben Broeders edged out Konstandinos Filippidis for 3rd, with both athletes over 5.60m.

In the men’s Javelin Throw, Johannes Vetter reached 86.41m to take the win from Moldovan Andrian Madare who threw a National Record (NR) of 84.41m.

Yupun Abekyoon Mudiyanselage clocked a Personal Best (PB) and Sri Lankan NR of 10.16s (+0.4) to take the men’s 100m, edging German National Champion Almas Deniz who ran 10.18s, while Rebekka Haase won the women’s event in 11.26s (+1.0) ahead of Lisa Nippgen who returned 11.32s.

Elvira Herman also won the women’s 100mH in 12.85s (0.0).
