Team USA disqualified in the 4x100m relays at the World Championships in Beijing

A reporter earlier in the championships asked Usain Bolt if he benefited from Justin Gatlin’s error of leaning too early before the finish line in the 100m Final. This same reporter went on to confirm directly from Justin Gatlin if he really believes he ‘made a mistake’ in the event. Watch what the silver medallist had to say:

Justin Gatlin speaks after USA got disqualified from 4x100m Silver

Team USA was supposed to get the Silver medal for the Men’s 4x100m relay event. However, a poor baton exchange between Tyson Gay and Mike Rodgers on the last leg, put paid to such hopes as the team was eventually disqualified. What does Gatlin have to say about the unexpected failure?

Our reporter also asks Gatlin how long he intends to keep on competing. Watch what he says about the disqualification and him retiring:

Gatlin was the favorite to win the 100m final after going two years unbeaten and being the fastest man this year. But it was World Record holder Usain Bolt who took the day, stamping his legacy of always delivering when it matters most,  a feat Gatlin acknowledged in this video. See how he says it:

When it was time for Gatlin to race, the anticipation could be felt from all quarters, and not without good reason. The 2005 World Champion has been unbeaten for two consecutive seasons, ending 2014 as the fastest man over the 100m/200m, and extending his scorching form to 2015 where he currently tops the world rankings in both 9.74s and 19.58s respectively.

After winning his 100m heats, clocking a time faster than that of Usain Bolt, I am so sure Gatlin was optimistic about the final. Here is how he felt before the final:
