Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has announced his list of 23 players for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
The team’s captain Onome Ebi, reigning UWCL winner Asisat Oshoala as well as in-form forward Rasheedat Ajibade all made the 23-player squad list. The team will be banking on the experience of veteran forwards Desire Oparanozie and Francisca Ordega as well as the youthful energy of youngsters like Ajibade and Gift Monday.
Leicester City defender Ashleigh Plumptre will be getting her first senior World Cup experience with Nigeria as she also made the cut.
The Falcons will arrive in Australia on July 4 for preparations before their group opener on July 21 against Canada.
Nigeria are drawn in Group B with Canada, co-host nation Australia, and the Republic of Ireland.
