The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will lock horns with the Little Blues of Italy on matchday two of the FIFA U-20 World Cup on Wednesday evening.

The Nigeria U20 boys posted a comeback to beat debutants Dominican Republic 2-1 in their opening game on Sunday. Their opponents Italy also recorded victory on same night, pipping Brazil 3-2 in an exhilarating contest.

Meanwhile, the Eagles head coach Ladan Bosso has promised that his team will learn from their shortcomings in the game against the Dominicans and be much more clinical in final-third against Italy.

“Against Dominican Republic, we saw what they could do and we were able to subdue them. We missed so many chances and we need to work on those chances before the next match,” Bosso said in his pre-match presser ahead Wednesday’s game.

“One of the good things about the Flying Eagles team is that their organisation is perfect from the defence to the midfield and then the attack,” the gaffer added.

A win for Nigeria in the top-of-the-table encounter tomorrow will guarantee them a spot in the World Cup knockout phase with one game to spare. The Italians will be motivated by same desire.
