At a meet in Pretoria (South Africa), Namibian quartermiler Beatrice Masilingi showed her brilliance over 200m where she clocked a massive African Youth Best of 22.94s (+1.8m/s), breaking the previous mark of 23.24s set by Nigeria’s Favour Ofili in 2019 whilst improving her Personal Best (PB) by almost a full second.

Masilingi now holds both of the African Youth Bests in the 200m and 400m, having won the latter at the Kip Keino Classic in October with a time of 50.99s.

In the women’s 400m, U-18 Christine Mboma, also from Namibia clocked a big PB of 51.81s for the win.

Kyle Blignaut threw 20.75m in the men’s Shot Put, while Werner Visser won the men’s Discus Throw with 60.97m.
