Super Eagles forward Anthony Nwakaeme was on the scoresheet for Turkish Club Trabzonspor as they claimed their first victory of the season after beating Yeni Malatyaspor 3-1 in the Super Lig.

Nwakaeme, who got snubbed by Nigeria’s coach Gernot Rohr ahead of next month’s double friendly against Tunisia and Algeria, scored his team’s third and his first of the season of the day deep into added time in the first half.

DR Congo’s Benik Afobe got the opening two goals for Trabzonspor early on in the game before Adem Buyuk got a consolation for Malatyaspor in the second half.

Trabzonspor now sit 10th on the Turkish top-flight league table after drawing one and losing each of their first two matches.
