Competing at the Kamila Skolimowska  Memorial, a World Athletics Continental Gold Tour event in Chorzow, Johannes Vetter landed a massive Personal Best (PB) and World Lead (WL) of 97.76m in the men’s Javelin Throw, the 2nd best throw ever recorded in the history of the event!

Vetter who already occupied the position of 2nd on the all-time list with his previous best of 94.44m, improved his Personal Record by over 3 metres and came 72cm short of Jan Zelezny’s World Record (WR) which stands at 98.48m.

With that mark coming in the 3rd round, he followed up with an equally big 94.84m. This is what his series looked like: 83.77m – 84.61m – 97.76m – 94.84m – 89.95m – 87.28m.

Behind him, homeboy Marcin Krukowski threw 84.62m for 2nd place.

In the women’s event, Polish Maria Andrejczyk also hurled a very impressive Season’s Best (SB) of 65.70m to take hold of the win ahead of Lina Muze who also threw an SB of 63.19m.

Olympic Champion, Sara Kolak finished 3rd with 61.23m.
