Johannes Vetter opened up the Continental Gold Tour nicely at the Paavo Nuurmi Games in Turku (Finland) where he reached a huge first round Season’s Best (SB) of 91.49m to win the men’s Javelin Throw, significantly becoming the first man to throw past 90m in 2020.

Having taken an easy win over Andreas Hofmann at the German National Championships over the weekend, he defeated Hofmann again, while also recording 87.59m, 88.57m and 86.42m in subsequent rounds.

He passed on his remaining two attempts as his compatriot finished 2nd with 85.24m, with Latvia’s Gatis Cakss in 3rd with 82.65m.
