Double Olympic Champion, Elaine Thompson-Herah again showed fine form at the Velocity Fest Meet V in Kingston, Jamaica, where she clocked a Season’s Best (SB) of 22.19s (+0.7m/s) to win the women’s 200m, the 2nd fastest time in the world ahead of Anthonique Strachan who ran an SB of 22.67s. Shericka Jackson got 3rd in 22.70s (SB), while Shashalee Forbes managed 23.04s in 4th.

In the preceding section, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce herself also took a comfortable win in a Season’s Best (SB) of 22.57s (+0.9) for 2nd place overall, well clear of Natasha Morrison who finished in 23.66s.

Meanwhile, Janieve Russell won the women’s 400m Hurdles in a Season’s Best of 55.30s, the 3rd fastest in the world ahead of Ronda Whyte who finished 2nd in 56.30s.
