Nigerian-born Basketball player, Semi Ojeleye was in action yesterday for Boston Celtics in their victory over Portland Trail Blazers. A close match which Celtics won by 128-124 points, a late rally from Blazers was not enough as they lost the match by 4pts.

Ojeleye came off the bench for his team and was on the court for 9mins.20s. Although his points tally for the game was 3pts, it was a very vital 3pt shot for the Celtics in a game Blazers almost clawed their way back in.

Jayson Tatum finished the match with a game high 34pts, 8ast, and 4reb (all defensive rebounds) for Celtics, while Portland’s Damian Lillard had (30pts, 16ast) and Jusuf Nurkic also contributed 30pts for Blazers.

Ojeleye will hope for more game-time when Celtics take to the court on Tuesday to face Miami Heat.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
