Nigeria’s Blessing Okagbare-Ighoteguonor will be hoping to seal her spot in the final of the Diamond League (DL) in Zurich when she takes to the track on Thursday, July 5th, at the Athletissama, which holds in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Okagbare- Ighoteguonor, who has so far competed in all four races (Doha, Eugene, Oslo and Stockholm) in the 100m this season has so far amassed 18 points, with her best outing coming in Doha when she raced to a Season’s Best (SB) of 10.90s on her way to finishing 2nd.

Standing in her way this time around would be the Ivorian duo of Marie Jose Ta Lou and Murielle Ahoure. Both sprinters have been in stellar form in the short sprint this season, as they both have chalked up three victories between them in the league this season.

Equally, reigning Olympic Champion in the blue riband event, Elaine Thompson of Jamaica, will hope to get her first victory in the DL this season, as flying Dutch woman, Dafne Schippers will also be prowling, hoping to cement her spot in the final.
