Regardless of not being the best performing team in Eugene, Team Royal Nuts still kept its spot at the top of our Fantasy Diamond Race League, thereby signaling to others that it would be difficult to catch him after his breathtaking start in the league.

Nonetheless, Team Growing Up did just enough to claim victory in Eugene after accumulating a total of 197 points to fend off competition from its closest challenger, Team Tobi Amusan, who finished with 195 points.

Like the name of his team infers, it has been a steady rise to the top for Team Growing Up as it would interest you to know that his team placed a distant 31st at the opening leg of the Diamond League in Doha.

How the teams placed after the Eugene Diamond League.

After clinching victory in the women’s 1500m race in Doha, Team Growing up opted to pick Caster Semenya as his captain as she competed in the 800m. She not only repaid the faith by emerging victorious, she also set a Meeting Record (MR) of 1:55.92, which helped him get 60 points.

Also, despite picking Sandra Morris and Conselsus Kipruto, who didn’t win their respective events, the duo of Ryan Crouser and Thomas Rohler both made it up for his team as they both set MRs.

For 2nd place Team Tobi Amusan, it was a perfect day as all the athletes selected won their respective events. Nevertheless, his greatest undoing was the fact that only two of the athletes he selected set MRs, and he also got double points for picking Caster Semenya as his captain.

It was a tie for 3rd place, as the duo of Team Esther Michael and Team Peter Ibironke ended up with 177 points. However, Esther Michael Team was given the nod for the 3rd spot as she has accumulated more points across the three legs of the contest.
