At the Virginia Challenge, Ashley Anumba won the women’s Discus Throw, landing a mark of 58.92m, well clear of 2nd-placed Myrissa McFolling-Young with a best throw of 52.15m. By so doing, she set a new Meet Record and kept up with a good streak of 1st place finishes this season, with this being her third.

Also in action on Saturday was Chinecherem Prosper who competed at the Michael Johnson Invitational in Waco, Texas, getting out to 77.50m with his fifth try and last legal throw to win the men’s Javelin Throw. He secured the win ahead of Arthur Petersen who reached a Personal Best (PB) of 77.08m.
