Udodi Onwuzurike on Saturday night at the Mt. SAC Relays in California, became the first Nigerian man to secure automatic qualification for the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary later this season.

He won the men’s 200m, clocking a Season’s Best (SB) of 20.14s (1.8) ahead of Americans, Matthew Boling who finished 2nd in 20.27s and David Dunlap in 20.38s.

About two weeks ago, the Stanford University standout commenced his outdoor season with a 10.07s run over 100m and 20.40s in the 200m.
