The women’s Discus which was one of the four Field events listed for the inaugural AFN/MoC Invitational, will now be replaced by the women’s Shot put at the competition scheduled to hold at Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, on Saturday, May 22nd.

The Discus Throw was scrapped for safety reasons – due to the lack of availability of sector protection. The Discus would have had to be held when no other events are taking place, and this has proved not to be possible to schedule within the 1-day AFN/MoC Invitational schedule – at future meets the organisers will explore holding the Discus and Hammer Throws at a separate location.

Interested Athletes who want to compete in the women’s Shot put can enter via the registration link no later than Thursday 20th May.

More than 300 athletes are expected to compete at the AFN/MoC Invitational which has been organized to provide athletes who have hopes of qualifying for the Olympics and World U20 Championships with the opportunity to do so.
