South Africa's Wayde Van Niekerk is Athletics new poster boy following the retirement of Jamaican legend Usain Bolt.

World Record (WR) holder, Wayde van Niekerk again looked good in his third 400m race of the 2020 season in a meet organized by Athletics NorthWest in Potchefstroom where he clocked a time of 45.89s to take the win.

Out in lane 5, he held off the challenge posed by Zakhiti Nene who was just a lane outside him, finishing strongly over the last quarter of the race as the latter placed 2nd, returning a Season’s Best (SB) of 46.29s.
