Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi scored his first goal of the season and provided an assist as he completed 90 minutes at Fleetwood Town to help the Blues into the Carabao Cup fourth round with a 5-2 win.

Iwobi’s goal came early in the second half just moments after the home side got back into the game as he was assisted by Anthony Gordon. Earlier in the 34th minute, he laid the ball on a plate for Richalison who scored his second of the game.

Overall, Iwobi had six shots on goal, created three chances, had four successful dribbles, and won one foul for his team.

He was recently called up by Gernot Rohr ahead up Nigeria’s friendly matches against Cote d’ Voire and Tunisia.
