Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has joined Portuguese Premiera Liga side Boavista on loan for the rest of the season.

Awaziem returned to his parent club FC Porto this summer after completing a season year-long loan to Spanish side CD Leganes last season, as he couldn’t help them avoid relegation.

The defender has been on the books of FC Porto since 2015 after he broke into their first team with some string of fine performances, but he couldn’t secure a starting berth with the Portuguese Club after which he was loaned to French Club Nantes and thereafter Caykur Rizespor in Turkey.

Awaziem started his career in the City of Jos, Plateau State, where he featured for renowned academy side Junior El-Kanemi.

He has made 17 appearances for the Super Eagles, scoring one goal in that period.
