The President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Pinnick has confirmed that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will play two friendly matches against Cote D’Ivoire and Tunisia in October ahead of the resumption of the Cameroon AFCON 2022 qualifiers.

The warm-up game against Cote D’Ivoire will take place on October 9th in Austria, with the three-time AFCON champions playing Tunisia four days later in the same venue.

Pinnick said the choice of Austria as a venue was born out of the fact that the European Nation has all the COVID-19 protocols in place and it’s an easier place of convergence for most of the Super Eagles players.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are at the top of the standings in Group L of the AFCON 2022 qualifiers with the team set to face Sierra Leone on November 9th in their next qualifiers.
