Defending champions, Toronto Raptors further showed why they remain one of the big favourites in their title defense, defeating Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday to take a 2-0 lead in their NBA Playoffs.

Although the Canadian side trailed by as much as 10pts in the 3rd quarter, cutting it down to 6pts before the 4th quarter, Raptors played an impressive game in the last quarter, outscoring Brooklyn by 11pts to finish off the game with a 104-99 victory.

Yet again, Cameroon’s Pascal Siakam played a very important role in his team’s victory. The Power Forward scored 19pts, 6reb and made 3ast in the game for Raptors, and also making a vital block.

Siakam attempted 4 outside shots in the game with a 50% conversion rate. This is Siakam’s second consecutive double digits for Raptors in the playoffs, having made 18pts and 11reb in the first game on Monday.

Small Forward, Ogugua OG Anunoby made 6pts, 5reb and an assist in the game. Anunoby also made 2 steals and 2 blocks.

Raptors will be hoping to close in on a 3-0 lead on Nets when both teams take to the court on Friday for their third game in the series.

From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
