Wesley Iwundu featured in Orlando Magic’s surprise victory over Milwaukee Bucks in their NBA Playoffs on Tuesday, with the Magic team taking a 1-0 lead over one of the favourites for the title.

Magic started with great intent, taking the 1st quarter by 10pts (33-23) and it was a momentum they sustained to see out the game with a 122-110 victory against the Bucks.

It was an unexpected defeat for Bucks who despite having their star player Giannis Antetokounmpo, accounting for a double-double (31pts, 17reb & 7ast), he was outscored by Magic’s Nikola Vucevic who also made a double-double (35pts and 14reb).

For Iwundu, he was on the court for 12mins: 27s, making 4pts and 3reb for Orlando Magic, playing his part in his team’s victory.

This win will give Magic some belief going into subsequent games in the series, and they will hope they can pull up an upset against Bucks who many have tipped to make the NBA final.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
