It was a rain of Personal Bests in the men’s 800m at the Monaco Diamond League where reigning World Champion Donavan Brazier clocked a fast World Lead (WL) of 1:43.15 to win the event, improving the mark already held by him.

He finished ahead of his compatriot Bryce Hoppel who was the NCAA Champion in 2019, running a huge Personal Best (PB) of 1:43.23, the 2nd fastest time in the world this year.

Canadian Marco Arop wasn’t left out as he also stormed through for 3rd in a PB of 1:44.14, while Frenchman Benjamin Robert made an almost two second improvement on his own PB, coming through for 4th in 1:44.56.

Briton Kyle Langford finished 5th in 1:44.83 (PB), just ahead of newly minted German Champion Marc Reuther in 1:44.93 (PB), edging Peter Bol in 1:44.96, while World Bronze medallist, Ferguson Rotich opened up in 1:45.48 for 8th place.
