Nigerian forwards Paul Onuachu and Cyriel Dessers were on target for Genk as they helped the Belgian outfit claim a 2-1 win against Zulte Waregem in their opening game of the 2020-21 Belgian First Division A season on Sunday.

Dessers, who joined Genk from Heracles Almelo in June, was handed his debut in a competitive game for the Blue-White scored a goal, while his compatriot Onuachu came off the bench to play a vital role.

Zulte Waregem got their noses in front just before the end of the first half after Olivier Deschacht slotted home the ball from a Bassem Srarfi’s assist.

Onuachu, who has the record for scoring Super Eagles fastest goal, came on for Mats Moeller Daehli moments before the hour mark and sparked his side’s comeback with a superb strike in the 73rd minute.

Moments after, Dessers then scored the match-winning goal with 10 minutes left to play, as he converted from the penalty spot.
