Toronto Raptors suffered their first defeat since the NBA restarted in Orlando, losing to former NBA Champions, Boston Celtics by 122-100 after the latter stunned the defending champions when both teams clashed in the bubble.

It was a winning streak that stretched back to 157 days, and it would have been five wins on the bounce for Raptors if they had managed to beat a well-drilled Celtics side that never gave them room to settle.

Brad Wannamaker’s two free throws opened up a 10pt lead for Celtics in the 1st quarter, expectedly Raptors tried to fight back but hard as they tried, a rejuvenated Boston stretched it further to go into the break with a 15pts lead.

American-born Nigerian player, Semi Ojeleye was on the court for just but still double digits for Celtics, making 11pts in the game. Ojeleye attempted five outside shots with a 66.7% conversion rate that saw him make three of those 3pt shots.

Ojeleye had a very impressive game despite just playing in the 4th quarter, also contributing an assist and one rebound in the game.

For Raptors, it was a game for most of their star players to forget. Although it wasn’t a good game by his standards, Cameroon’s Pascal Siakam still made 11pts in the game. Ogugua Anunoby was on the court for 18mins: 18s, making three points for the Raptors.

Boston’s display today has shown that they are a compact team, and they showed what they could do on Wednesday in their blowout win against Brooklyn Nets.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
