USA won both 4x400m relays, and finished well clear at the top of the medals table

A United States team men’s 4x400m relay team led off by the seventh fastest 400m runner Fred Kerley and anchored by the third joint-fastest 400m Hurdler Rai Benjamin was always going to have a chance of GOLD, and they delivered on the closing night of the World Championships, winning with a World Leading time of 2:56.69.

After losing their title to Trinidad and Tobago at the 2017 World Championships, the Americans steadily built up their lead with Michael Cherry in the 2nd leg.

Cherry transported the baton to Wilbert London in the 3rd leg in the lead, and with Benjamin still hurting from missing out on GOLD in the 400mH, he made sure the lead us unassailable, bringing home the baton in first place.

Jamaica clocked a Season’s Best (SB)of 2:57.90 to take the Silver, with the Borlee brothers (Dylan and Kevin) helping Belgium snag Bronze in an SB of 2:58.78.

Earlier, their women’s team made up of the quartet of Phyllis Francis, Sydney McLaughlin, Dalilah Muhammad and Wadeline Jonathas also clocked a World Leading time of 3:18.92.
