The first leg of the Fantasy Diamond Race Contest which took place in Doha produced some interesting winners as players capitalized on some athletes setting Meeting Records (MR) to move top of the pile in the Making Of Champions (MoC) 2019 League.

As we’ve seen in the previous Diamond Leagues (DL) in Doha, the city has a knack for inspiring athletes to setting various kind of records. This year, it was Swede, Daniel Sthal who was in inspired form, as he set an MR, Diamond League Record (DLR), and World Lead (WL) in the men’s Discus Throw.

With few people able to envisage the Swede performing so spectacularly, it was Okelu Onyeka (Okelu Onyeka’s Team) who picked the player as his captain and it paid huge dividend. Also, the player selected Caster Semenya and Dalilah Muhammad in his team, as both athletes gave him 60 points in total.

The race for 2nd & 3rd position was fiercely fought out with both players scoring 180 points alongside the 4th placed player. However, the nod for 2nd place was giving to Esther Micheal-who retains her 2nd place spot from this leg of the contest last year.

After goofing by selecting Tom Walsh who didn’t win the men’s Shot Put as his captain, Chukwudi Igwe’s Team was still able to claim 3rd position after picking 6 other winners in their discipline, churning in 180 points too.
