On a day in which only one Meeting Record (MR) was set, it was the team owned by Lawrence William West who emerged tops at the Lausanne leg of the “MoC 2018 League” Diamond Race Contest.

Like the saying goes about “Fortune favoring the brave”, West’s team was one of the few players who opted not to select South Africa’s middle-distance runner Caster Semenya who competed in the women’s 1500m race, as the recently crowned Commonwealth Games Champion could only manage a sixth-place finish in the race.

How the teams fared after the Lausanne Diamond League.

Instead, he went for New Zealand thrower, Tom Walsh who won the men’s Shot-Put event in 21.92m. Also, the first-time winner this season went further and selected other winners on the day such as Marie Jose Ta Lou, Abderrahman Samba and Noah Lyles. All these were responsible for him raking in 139 points on the day.

There were also two new entries into our top 3, as the duo of Team Blitz and Trailblazers were just separated by 2 points in the battle for second and third place. However, it was Team Blitz which is owned by Making of Champions athlete, Jerry Jakpa who garnered 129 points to finish second.

Despite placing fifth in Lausanne, Team Royal nuts still tops our MoC league standings with a total of 1417 points, and his currently placed 3rd in the world rankings.
