There was a change of guard on Day 2 of the Fantasy Diamond Race Contest standings following the Shanghai Diamond League, with Blaise Nwokedike’s Blaise’s Team dominating proceedings to emerge victorious.

Nwokedike was bullish enough to pick Bahamian sprinter Shaunae Miller-Uibo as his captain ahead of 2015 and 2017 World Champion in the 200m, Dafne Schippers, and Ivorian, Marie Jose Ta Lou. The move paid off extremely well for him in the end as Miller-Uibo not only won her event, she also set a Meeting Record (MR) of 22.06s to help him earn a massive 60 points.

What made Nwokedike’s win all the more impressive was the fact that he finished a distant 21st on the MoC League standings on the opening day of the Race contest.

After his great exploits at the Doha Diamond League where he set an MR and World Lead (WL) in the men’s 400m, most players chose Steven Gardiner once again, and he repaid that faith by storming to an MR of 43.99s.

Blaise’s Team amassed a total of 210 points at the meet, with Growing Up Team following in 2nd place with 202 points. Royal Nuts team was 3rd with 194 points.
