Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has made six changes to his starting eleven for tonight’s game against the Desert Foxes of Algeria in their last group game of the 2018 World Cup qualifier.

Having qualified for Russia and also considering the injuries to some key players, Rohr has opted to give other players a run in the team, with goalscorer from the game against Zambia, Alex Iwobi starting the game.

Ola Aina will be making his first start for Nigeria since switching nationalities, while Anthony Nwakaeme will be leading the lines in attack. John Ogu comes back into the starting line-up since the game against South Africa, as would both Oghenekaro Etebo and Kelechi Iheanacho.

The Super Eagles have already for the World Cup but are hoping to remain unbeaten through out the qualifiers.

Starting 11: Ikechukwu Ezenwa; Shehu Abdullali, William Troost Ekong, Leon Balogun, Ola Aina; Wilfred Ndidi, John Ogu, Oghenekaro Etebo; Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, Anthony Nwakame

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
