In what was a surprise announcement, Making of Champions (MoC) have added yet another promising talent to its track club, unveiling Moyosore Badejo as their newest recruit.

Badejo was left stunned when she knew that she would officially be joining MoC, after the CEO, Bambo Akani paid the Lagos based athletes a visit in one of their training sessions with coach Deji Aliu.

A recent graduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where she studied Guidance and Counselling, Badejo is the first athlete MoC will be signing who is not currently in a higher institution or about to gain admission.

Having won the double at the 2015 Top Sprinter auditions in Ibadan, Badejo caught the attention of all three judges then before settling for Aliu whom she has been training with since. However school demands somehow impeded her performances on the track as she juggled both training and studies.

With her studies completed, she seems ready for the rigors of Athletics, and displayed what she is capable of, having recently won four medals for UNILAG at the Nigerian University Games (NUGA) in Makurdi: 100m Hurdles, 200m, 4x100m and 4x400m relays.

With 13 athletes already signed on to the club, Badejo will bring the tally to 14 athletes being managed by MoC, and coincidentally evens the number to 7 males and 7 females.

On whether she was expecting to join MoC track club, Badejo expressed surprise and delight as well, adding: “I thought MoC only signs athletes who are in secondary schools or about entering the University.”

Badejo last made a competitive appearance in April running for Team UNILAG in Makurdi, however she will be eager to line up for MoC, looking to possibly make her bow in the Golden League when the competition commences.

Badejo won four medals for TeamUNILAG at NUGA 2017. She will be hoping to win more medals for MoC

Very proficient in writing and talking about football, but has now found a new love in Athletics. Just a matter of time before I become a master on things pertaining to the tracks. Formerly the Content Manager-Sports at NigerianBulletin and Allsports, Christopher is now a Senior Sports writer at Making of Champions.

  1. I join in celebrating with you Badejo. Hoping to see more of you even as you settle down as a full time athlete. Hoping to join you soon if opportunity comes my way to move Nigerian athletics to another realm.

    Kudos to MoC!!!
