Despite facing many off-field setbacks, somehow  Nigeria’s U-23 football team have managed to reach the Semifinals of the Rio 2016 Olympic games.

The Dream Team VI will continue their quest for glory on Wednesday night as they take on Germany in what promises to be an exciting game for both sets of fans and neutrals alike.

Samson Siasia’s men have been impressive so far in this tournament and are coming into this match off the back of a comfortable 2-0 win over Denmark in the quarterfinals.

Germany on the other hand, trashed Portugal 4-0 in their last match to book their place in the semis. The Germans are yet to lose a game so far and they have scored a whooping 19 goals in four games although 10 of them came against the lowly Fiji Islands.

Nigeria have to be wary of the threat possessed by Arsenal winger, Serge Gnabry, who has found the net in each of his four matches so far, scoring six goals in the process.

A concern for the Dream Team VI is that top scorer, Oghenekaro Etebo, is not yet fully fit and could miss the game come Wednesday. The 20-year-old Feirense of Portugal striker sat out of the 2-0 win over Denmark due to an injury he sustained in the last group B fixture against Colombia.

According to the team spokesman, Timi Ebikagboro, Etebo will undergo a late fitness test to ascertain his availability for the game.
