It was an evening to remember for Marcus Krah who not only upstaged favourite De’Jour Russell to win the 110 Hurdles title, but also raced to a Personal Best (PB) of 13.25s to strike GOLD for USA at the ongoing IAAF World Junior Championships in Poland.

Krah’s teammate Amere Lattin also clocked a PB of 13.30s to come in 2nd, while Japan’s Takumu Furuya set an Asian U-20 Record of 13.31s to clinch the Bronze medal, with Jamaica’s Russell missing out on a medal in 4th place (13.39s). Home boy Dawid Žebrowski was 5th with a PB of 13.45s.

Both Krah and Lattin had won their races in the preliminary round, running 13.48s and 13.46s respectively, before lowering their times in the semis where Krah clocked 13.36s to win Heat 2, as Lattin finished 2nd behind Russell in 13.39s.

The Jamaican had been tipped to win the title after posting the fastest time overall in the semis, clocking an impressive 13.20s on Wednesday, and the 16-year old would be wondering what went wrong after being left behind at the starting blocks.
