Sapele Golden League
Heat 3 of the women's 100m was stacked: Alphonsus, Cecilia, Mercy, Agnes, Peace, Ese Brume all in one race

All roads lead to the Gateway Stadium in Sagamu as the 3rd leg of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) Golden League takes centre stage on Tuesday, May 31st in Ogun State.

Nigerian athletes will battle for slots to next month’s African Senior Athletics Championships holding in Durban, and the Olympic Games in Rio, as the Sagamu Golden League will be used as a qualifier for both events.

Some of the country’s top athletes such as Patience Okon George, Ogho-Oghene Egwero, Divine Oduduru, Orukpe Erayokan and a host of others will be part of the league which took off in Abuja, moved to Sapele in Delta State, and then Sagamu.

Nigerian winners at this year’s Access Bank Lagos City Marathon will also be presented with their cheques at the all-important Sagamu meet.
