Hard as other teams tried to knock Top Sprinters off their perch in the MoC Diamond Race Fantasy League, the team powered by our CEO, Bambo Akani remained resolute and still maintained its grip at the top of the standings after the Rome Diamond League (DL).

In fact, since the last time we brought you a report on our Fantasy League, there have been three DL meets in: Rome, Oslo and Stockholm; what is striking after these meets is that Top Sprinters still stands tall, despite not winning .

Today, we will be publishing the outcome of Rome Diamond League and how all the teams fared, also announcing who were the winners from the Eternal city that saw.

For most people who chose Caterine Ibarguen in their teams owing to her consistency down the years, they had to settle for 10 points from the Colombian after Yulimar Rojas showed she is ready to take on the Triple Jump mantle, with the Venezuelan winning the duel.

Meanwhile, only one athlete did a Meeting Record (MR), and that was Sifan Hassan who returned 30points to those brave enough to choose her, in fact 60 for the teams more courageous in making her its captain.

So with the way Rome Diamond League panned, there were some new names who rose up the log, making a bold statement to other teams who have been dominating.

With a total of 150 points, Jeffery Ijeomah’s team won this meet, shaking off competition from Fast Track team (Hammed Yusuf) who followed in 2nd with 135 points. Markus Lundborg’s team (who could be an international player, and ineligible to win our Airtime reward) finished 3rd with 134 points.

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources.
