We all love watching relay races, and when a certain Usain Bolt competes in a mixed race, we would no doubt want to see how he fares.

Well, you might have read that his All Star team won the mixed 4x100m relay at the Coles Nitro Athletics series held last weekend in Melbourne. However, if you have not seen the race, you can watch it on this Youtube link below.

Just picture for a moment that the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) introduces the mixed 4x100m relays at this year’s World Championships in London: imagine Bolt, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce or Elaine Thompson competing for Team Jamaica.

Wait for it, or Wayde Van Niekerk and Caster Semenya teaming up for South Africa in the mixed 4x400m relay; that would surely be a spectacle to behold, don’t you think?

Athletics coverage was a discovery, having to move away from regularly writing about Football. Although it was initially daunting, but now being an authority in it makes the past effort worthwhile. From travelling on the same international flight with Nigerian athletes, to knowing you could easily interview: World Record holder Tobi Amusan, then Ese Brume, I have cut my teeth in this beat earning the trust of Athletics sources. Formerly the Content Manager-Sports at Ringier media Nigeria, Chris is a Senior Sports writer, Photographer & Community manager at Making of Champions.
